Action at the Britannica Blog

This week, the Britannica Blog has invited a number of distinguished educators to post their ideas and responses to the topic, “Brave New Classroom 2.0.”  There are posts about the importance of Web 2.0 technologies and how they can transform teaching by Steve Hargadon and there is a response to this post suggesting Web 2.0 will not transform teaching by Daniel Willingham.  David Cole, a professor of law at Georgetown University explains why he bans the use of laptops in his classes while Michael Horn, co-author of the book Disrupting Class explains how technology can have a positive impact on education. You won’t want to miss reading Michael Wesch’s (Anthropology professor and insightful YouTube productions) post about how students are today and what teachers can do about them.

Whether you read these posts today or a week from now, they are all worth reading…and will cause you to reflect on the thoughts of each writer and how future teaching and learning may look.

Britannica Blog is tightly censored. Reader comments incompatible with its commercial or ideological proclivities are excluded. Boycott Britannica censorship.

Hmm, my experience has not been that Britannica censors what is posted.
