Open Source: Google, the troll under the bridge?

Will Open Source applications survive? This is the question addressed by several anthropologists. First, over at Savage Minds, they are working to analyze the movement from computer based to web based applications. They point us to Au.tonomous whose blog is written by an “independent group of hackers and activists” and recently issued this “Franklin Street Statement” about Open Source software and web applications.

In his response, the AnthroGeek , suggests that the Golden Age of Open Source will end just like the dot-com bubble and that Google will become the grumpy old troll under the bridge. I hope not. But, time will tell.
